The Institut français in Laos of Luang Prabang is active in both the linguistic and the cultural fields. It offers 3 sessions of 50 hours classes in French and Lao, in group or private, for children, teenagers and adults. Its multimedia library proposes access to books, magazines and computers..

Cultural Activities

The French Institute of Laos’ mission is to ensure cultural and artistic dialogue between Laos and France. In this context, the antenna in Luang Prabang regularly hosts exhibitions of paintings or photographs by local artists. Cultural events such as concerts, shows by French artists and conferences are regularly scheduled throughout the year with highlights such as the Fête de la Francophonie or the Fête de la musique.

Movie Theater

Children’s films are shown once a month on Wednesdays or Saturdays. In the dry season, open-air aperitifs are organized once a month, on Friday evening.

Books & Magazines

The antenna has a library collection of around 500 titles intended for adults and young people alike. The books are available for consultation on site or can be borrowed. A space for periodicals in French, set up at reception, can be consulted on site.
